not exactly.
tsubasa resevoir chronicles simply mixes almost all of Clamp's works (the authors of xxxholic, cc sakura, ect) using sakura, syaoran, kurogane, fye and mokona (all from different clamp works except syaoran and sakura who are both from cc sakura) as main characters.
however, xxxholic has references to tsubasa since one of the main character sis considered important from tsubasa as a link between the stories.
i'm finishing fruits basket too.

hm...I wasn't too shocked because before I even started I read that 'he' was a 'she' XD But honestly, it seems that Takaya added that in after the fact because notice when Akito comes to visit Yuki at school, when Tohru pushes her, she's completely flat! I mean, even I'm not that extreme flat XD
