Well, yes technically, though it is refered to as Lightning Edge because Kakashi cut a lightning bolt with it. And he did call it "Raimei" at one point, which I think can mean Lightning Edge.

We
know what the name is, we are just debating the depiction of the other name of the technique. Yondaime said Thunder Cut, and I said it was Lightning Edge/Blade which is the correct translation of Raikiri/Raimei. But I'm sure most of us know that the original name is Chidori.

Yes. And Shinmeiryuu is right about the chidori/Raikri/Raimei.

its lightning edge[/quote]
Well, Raikiri means "Lightning Blade." But you see, Kakashi in the manga calls it "Raimei" at one particular point, in which
that means "Lightning Edge." The fans have labled it as Lightning Edge, but the real meaning of Raikiri is "Lightning Blade" (It can also mean "Lightning Cut/Cleave/Slash", but I
think that's only in the future tence of 'kiri', I'm not sure though.), and Raikiri is the popular name for the technique. So actually, people are labling it incorrectly, and that's what I was pointing out.
And yes Chidori does mean "One Thousand Birds."
...
It seems as though we've gotten off topic, gentlemen. So I suggest that we cease this argument, lest we insult this thread and it's maker even more.
Anyway, it seems as though noone likes Tenten, I'm curious to why that is.

Agreed. I also have a theory about her; I think she is Chinese.
The way she looks and dresses is similar to that of someone of Chinese origin. What sparked my observation of this was the fact that she shares a slight resemblance to Chao Lingshen, a female character in Negima, who is Chinese. And the fact that she is an expert with tool usage, implies that she may be a user of the Chinese Hidden Weapon techniques. The evidence I have to support this is the Kuchiyose technique she knows that is called Shosoryuu where she summons weapons in the form of two scrolls and directs it at the opponent from above them using chakra strings. Though not exactly similar to the popular depiction of the Hidden Weapon technique, it does support my theory on her techniques possibly having an origin with the Chinese Hidden Weapon techniques. Which therefore can be assumed that she possibly does have Chinese origins and/or a fasination with the Chinese. Eh, but I'm blabbing... Sorry...
