If you have dialup is understandable. If you have DSL or Cable, you probably have adware and spyware.

I have pop-up stopper and spybot but I think the reason why is my dad has stopped the display properties from working and my monitor screen is FAT

You mean your operating system is FAT, not your monitor. Upgrade to NTFS by reformating and installing XP.
