for example most of tokyopop manga are about ten dollars

dark horse manga is more expensive ranging from 15-25 dollars
viz is priced at about ten dollars while cmx is 10.95 these are the most popular companies (in no specific order)

interesting...I get all my books for $10!! Yet again, i know the owner of the comic book store and he likes me! So i don't spend as much!

I think the price of that serise might raise but they probably will not

it depends on the company. I do not think that they could raise the price by too much, considering how easy it is to find it free on the internet. its not really the store who decides the price. though it would not hurt to be close to the owner so you can get a discount

so with that said will the internet cause the market to crash and burn thus causing pirated manga to dominate. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or bad?

I don't think pirating manga will dominate because purcasing manga at the store is still VERY popular

people will always still buy manga. i'd say that people read manga online that isnt good enough to buy because manga is great to have in front of you, so you can lend it to friends and show of your collection. its not like anime where you could just burn it and have a hard copy.

and the reason its called manga is so it can attract our audience, deos it work? not really because most american manga sucks.

I don't think it should be called manga. it's not worthy enough

there are plenty of bad "japanese" manga out there i think that it shouldnt be called manga because it isnt from japan not because it sucks

why don't you search for scans? it's free...and pkus a manga is not worth it too me cuz i could buy a 300-500 pg book for the same amount of money

the reason is so one you can show off a collection two you have a hard copy to show to friendsand three its really not that expensive like anime is so its easy to get ten dollars and buy a book and four there is nothing like the smell and feeling of a freshly bought book.
