Well, first of all, just because a boy is pretty doesn't mean he's gay. There are several bishonen that aren't. And second, you probably don't like bishonen because . . . we'll you two are boys. Girls like bishonen because they're cute.
And another thing. Where I live, bishonen is term that's applied to any boy a girl considers attractive. However, in many languages (such as Japanese, Spanish, and French) if you call a boy pretty, you're basically calling him gay. All in all, bishonen (both real and pretend) are just guys girls think are cute.
