It was a Japanese dog AND it had InuYasha's ears, not to mention part of it's name is part of InuYasha's name. They weren't really white (mostly black brown & white and goldish yellow & white) and it didn't really look like Sesshomaru. But I'm almost certain InuYasha and Sesshomaru are Shiba Inus...

first of all Inu means DOG ppl!!!!!!! duh! so it has no relation. secondly yes they could be, but i believe the author mentioned being inspired in Samoiedo dogs like this

but i have to admit they do look alot like shiba inus' to me.
