Basara has one of the best storylines out there. The only problems with it is that it is incomplete and the animation style is not as appealing as it could be. However, if you are looking for a series with a solid story and wonderfully developed characters then this is the series for you.

DId anyone mention ONe pIEce? IT is currently the most popular in Japan, last time i checked. It's a great mix of suspense, action, and humor at odd moments. NOt slapstick, mind you. THe character backgrounds are done well, and aren't a drag. THey're easily accessable from E-bay if you want the original.
Trust me, after you've seen the original, the Fox Box version doesn't even come close.

One piece is funny...but is that rap they put in the opening theme song? @_@ That's so weird..., I like it! ^_^ I like the anime, too. I'ts crazy, but the fact that its 'different' makes in...well, interesting.
