exactly, Lee is so fast Shikamaru wouldn't have time to think. thats why I say Lee is stronger. But Shikamaru is a great tactician and leader, there for superior, and besides Shikamaru was the first to reach chunin, so the obvious answer is Shikamaru for who's better.

Well you but if you have a surprise move hidden you can always shock your opponents... that is if they hvaen't seen it before.. then again you can come up with new briliant move or just intimidate your opponents with mind games (like Neji did with Hinata when he was battling her at the preliminary matches). I really like the last one

niether Lee or Shikamaru get suprised easy, but mind games I think would only work on Lee (ex. Make fun of Gai)

Umm, Neji is a little annoying because he is always taking about his clan. But I swear he soon realizes after he had the fight with Naruto. i find hinata really cute.

Yeah Neji is too.. how should I say it.. dogmatic. Hinata is way cuter.. tho I still kinda like them both equal.

I watched a small clip in Naruto Shippuuden and it says there that even Naruto can't beat Shikamaru. Shikamaru's just really lazy but if he has determination just like Lee, He can surpass him, even Sir Gai. I mean, what's up having 200+ IQ! Shikamaru will surely beat the hell out of Lee.

Like, after every episode.
Though i can't remember the episode.
It has a question there who will win between Shikamaru and the others..
And the answer is Shikamaru..
I'll watch it again and post what episode that is.

The anime has a lot of non-canon filler and other things not mentioned in the manga or stated by Kishimoto.

Only if Shikamaru gets prep time can he win against Lee. Otherwise, Lee will simply overwhelm Shikamaru with a brutal taijutsu assault.

He had prep time. He had seen Hidan's techniques before so he knew what to plan ahead of time to beat him. Furthermore, just because he beat Hidan doesn't necessarily mean he'll beat Lee. Hidan's jutsus are powerful but are slow and time consuming to set up. Lee won't give Shikamaru a chance to plan anything since he utilizes speed and taijutsu. Lee will constantly be in Shikarmaru's face so much he won't be able to plan anything.
