book->movie adaptation
the LOTR movie adaptated the books alot better then the HP movies (from what i can remember).

story Depth->
i think LoTR was wonderfully directed and the story and drama (and not only the fight scenes mind you) kept the story going. i'm giving this to LoTR

History->
again i'll give this to the LOTR Book series. THe sillmarillion (while like a text book) is an exellent source of the rich history of Middle earth, and is the backbone on how The Hobbit and the LOTR series builds apon.

Memoriability->
both have memorable scenes but the scenes in LOTR to me seem more dramatic and aweinspiring... i mean Pelanor feilds that was a kick ass assortments of scenes!

Lord of the Rings gets my vote.... the movie(s) are the best.... nothing like that could be ever made again.... i doubt it anyway...

LoTR is better. It has a better backstory, it's much more epic, etc etc.
