An InuYasha Manga I got was only $8.99 plus tax. Which wasn't bad, I shop at Borders Bookstores for my manga.

Me as well, but I have other.. means of reading manga. If your tired of mangas not having flashy, detailed backgrounds check out Blame! Its actually pretty good, the first 2 volumes move slowly but than it picks up. The guy really does excellent work.

Don't buy the volumes at the store, VIZ skips parts 1 and 2, and they edit the hell out of it. First of all, I was not advertising- all the sites I use for manga download are legal and non-profit and I simply offered my knowledge to aid another manga fan, I didn't disclose the links just like that did I? And it's not off-topic. So don't try pinning stuff on me CR.
Secondly, I don't think there is a "best manga of all time"- it depends on people's tastes. Personally my favs were Mermaid Saga, Bloody Kiss, Inuyasha and a few others (though I read a few dozens).
Lone Wolf and Cub is a good manga. It was one of the first samurai manga to be distrubuted abroad and you can call it the father of feudal manga. It's pretty good.

My fav manga is the Zatch bell manga, its so awesome
though I definately need to see if I can get my hands on some of the manga mentioned in here, they sound intresting
