He was born in Transylvania but lived in Wallachia (a region in Romania) for nearly all of his life

Ok, ok, let me straighten this out.

Vladimir Dracula/Dragulia aka Vlad Tepes (means Vlad the Impalor) was known as romenian though he was born in Hungary. He is famous in Hungary as a monster. Vlad Tepes was a transilvanian national hero since her drove the hungarian army away from vallaquia (Wallachia) and transilvania, thus saving the countries from invasion. To discourage the hungarian soldiers (already tired for the horrid mountain cross to enter the lands), Dracula impaled his victims (rebelious peasants and enemy soldiers) in wodden stakes along the borders and was rumoured to drink people's blood. The hungarians mental strenght would break down, thus granting Dracula the victory (even though his troupes were outnumbered) and also giving him the title of vampiric monster, forcing him to live secluded in the transilvanian mountains.

Bram Stocker did did not portray Dracula as handsome, quite contrary. Stocker approached him as an unholy demon and gave a very religious approach to his book. The movie inspired in the book, however, portrayed Dracula as a shape-shifting bishie, but though he did shapeshift in the book he didnt become a seducer, nor did that romantic story of the movie happen (though he is implied that he wanted it XD).

As for the Nosferatu that came to public, he was merely a alter-ego for Dracula. Since Bram Stocker still held copyrights over the name Dracula from his books, the movies, books and other stories reached us as Nosferatu (which means "the undead"). The real Nosferatu story was also a Dracula wanna-be though, but the story is not nearly as interesting.

As for the very first vampire- the oldest of legends around the world to refer to vampires as shape-shifting blood sucking monsters, but seduction was one of their main traits. Ok, some cultures, like japanese bat demons for example, did not see them as such, they were plain ugly, but in general seduction was a common trait.
In the western world, the first vampire is considered to be Lilith, the woman who was supposed to become the first human mother (or Adam's first wife in a biblical sense), but the beautiful woman, seduced the devil himself and gained her powers of darkness, stealing energy by drinking the blood of the living to maintain her beauty and giving birth to the demons that haunt humanity. In the more biblical sense, Lilith was cast from Eden into the lower worlds of darkness and Eve became the first mother of humanity.
Of course there are other versions but the eldest of vampires legends were based in similar stories. However, the prolific demons that haunted humanities dreams for generations gaining fame for the species have been the stories of monstrous gargolic creatures (as were Lilith's children if I may add).

All in all in depends on which part of the world you reaserch in for the eldest legends.

Ok, now that that's cleared up, let's get back to topic.
-Does anyone the exact date of VK's anime release in Japan?
