I've alot of characters die in animes but the deaths that hit me the hardest were that of
Rosette and Chrno from Chrno Crusade I cried for abit after seeing die in each others arms
Also Gundam Seed was full of such death but it was the deaths of Mwu, Fally, and Nartarle i think the way she died was the most tragic scene
as she was shot for about four or five times by that bastard Azrael.
And lastly Kenshin all the times he cheated death and was taken down by a damn disease

I would definetly say Hughes from Fulletal Alchemist (along w/ Greed and Scar ~ his was pitiful, no offense...) and Nickolas Wolfwood from Trigun (cuz he didnt wanna die
)

Lol, If you think Seed had a lot of deaths, you have got to check out Zeta Gundam
About 70-90% of the main cast dies (some with rather gruesome deaths), and Camille, the main character is turned into a vegetable

Ryoko's death in "Tenchi Universe" was sad... however, I don't think it counts because she came back in the final episode.

ive got to say WOlf wood and Spike were the saddest to go...when ever i watch those episodes i still cry
and i didnt know all of the people from wolf's rain died! *sniff*

Oh, man. Just finished L/R: Licensed by Royalty. Add it to the sad ending list.
One of the guys gets stabbed in the back at the very end..... and he was theone with the girlfriend.
