But does anyone here have any compassion for the phamtom? I mean sure he killed people, and wanted to separate Christine and the other dude. But all he knows is evil, and for the first time he falls in love. anyone?

I have compassion for the Phantom. He was raised in a life-style that consisted of hate and rejection, which might as well be an evil environment. I think that no one should have to go through that kind of life, just because of the way they look. It's not right to judge by appearances, because they could have a warm and caring soul on the inside, but it's hard to see that if you just judge by outward appearance. But that's just my opinion.
