nice one there, darkdriver! Well, I guess you are right that I shouldn't judge it so viciously. Maybe I should give it a try, ne? But sadly, here in my country, like I almost said, we only have limited American comics only, so I wouldn't be able to buy any of those. My brother was just lucky to buy a Punisher copy.. but as I said before, very good one. ^_^. Sorry if I have ever offended you in some way.

Not offended in the least, Azuria. And since you have access to a computer, give

a try.
Here to help.

Thats crap. Darksilver has pretty much explained his point. Yet some of you still act like children and post "it sucks" or stupid stuff like that.
Im a big comicbook fan, and from what I read...you guys need to get out more. True, the whole "outfit" thing might be ridiculous. Yet There's mangas where the main character dresses with shirts that dont cover his belly button, in short, they look homosexual. Where's the difference there?
Now...Marvel comics, yea, big industry, and since its big now everyone avoids it. I admit I dont buy a lot of Marvel books, but i do read some Ultimates tittles, which could blow away any manga.
DC Universe and the comics that Dark mentioned are the ones I read. The DC has been getting some good storylines, and right now they are at a gigantic storyline involving the whole universe. It might have a "Crisis" on the title, but it's nothing like the last Crisis, which reseted the universe and stuff, dont confuse it.
Im not dissing manga, im a fan of it, but you guys just seem to just...puke this stuff out without thinking. It's annoying.

Again, the darkdriver is here to make the case for American comics.
For those of you in America, go to a comics store and ask for a Previews--even an old Previews. (The shop owner will know what you want.)
Previews is the catalog every comics shop owner uses to order comics--thanks to the monopoly on comics distribution Diamond (the publishers of Previews) has. It's this thick catalog full of ads for comics, magazines, games, anime DVds, T-shirts, and much more.
Once you have a copy of previews, ignore the red sections and go straight to the green section. These pages have the independents, those who sell primarily but not exclusively through Diamond. (Technically, there are a few other distributors, but they don't sell a lot--and they either advertise in Previews or order directly from Previews themselves.)
The independents section is where the manga companies are:ADV, Tokyopop, comicsone, Viz, and the rest. It's also where all the comics I've previously recommended are located. And there are all sorts of companies there selling all sorts of books, the the alternatives of Fantagraphics to the "Amerimanga" of Antarctic to gaming comics from Dork Storm. All sorts of books are there!
Thing is, a number of shops require you to buy a copy of Previews if you want to order from Previews and set up a folder with them; others (like the one I frequent, Galactic Goods) will let you borrow the store copy and indicate in it which books you want.
I'm just letting you know about this in advance.
My point is that the American comics scene is quite diverse. A number of you are focused on Marvel/DC as being the American comics scene...and they were, for the most part, prior to the 80's. Nowadays, those two are always complaining about losing readership and market share, while the companies I mention brag about their growing readership (with the exception of AC Comics...but Bill Black tends to be a whiner at times).
For those of you outside America...try "radio comix" "antarctic press" "ac comics" "kenzerco.com" and "shandaverse" on your search engines. The companies whose books I like do a lot of mail-order; they'll be glad to take your orders for their wares.
I'm not saying I don't like manga; my current favorite is Yotsuba&!. I'm just saying there's more to American comics than Marvel and DC. Check out what else is available. You might just find some non-manga books you'll really like!
