I guess I would say 'arigatou gozaimasu' is more polite by a slight margin, but either is fine. To really thank someone profusely and politely, you'd combine them into 'doumo arigatou gozaimasu'.

Personally, I'd keep them in Katakana.
So it'd be like
-Energy Scatter; Enaaji Sukattaa ;エナージ スカッター

-Energy Pierce; Enaaji Piisu (Piirusu? Australian accent makes things hard ... ) ;エナージ ピース or エナージ ピールス

-Energy Detonate; Enaaji Detoneitto ;エナージ デトネイット

If this is like, in terms of some sort of anime or anime-based theme, then I'd personally stick with Katakana. Alot of anime do that with their attacks, etc.
Otherwise, in complete Japanese... hrmm... not sure if it would mean the same thing?
I'm not going to give you what I think it would be in actual 日本語 because I'm not sure on it. Someone else here might have an idea ...

Actually, "energy" is translated into katakana as エネルギー. (Space Alc agrees.) Don't ask me why, it must have begun as a translation of the written word rather than the phonetics.

Completely in Japanese, would it mean the same thing? Sure. Actually, it seems to me like more anime moves are written all in kanji, but maybe it's just the shounen stuff I watch.

I like 電力 for 'energy'... it's literally 'power'. Although it's used for 'eletrical power', it has other uses that are like a physical force of power, rather than the type of energy/drive that is inside a person, etc.

Energy Scatter [scattering]
Denryoku sanran
電力散乱

Energy Pierce [penetration]
Denryoku kantsuu
電力貫通

Energy Detonate [detonation]
Denryoku bakuhatsu

Nah, most words follow phonetic rules when put into katakana. There's just a few oddities like 'energy'.

Ashamed to watch shoujo?! Haha, that's where I began! Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon still has a place in my heart. *sniff* ...And kiddie anime uses katakana moves, I think.

I'm really not so fond of katakana.I don't know why.

I don't like the way katakana looks... it's all blocky. I like the curviness of hiragana.

Hey! I love katakana more than kanji.
I'm having a hard enough time in Japanese class with 8 out of 10 students being Chinese and posessing a superiority complex when it comes to kanji. Then there's the "I-used-to-live-in-Japan" girl. So it's just me and my caucasian friend.
Not a very promising prospect for class rankings, let me tell you. =_=''

Chinese people may be able to understand the kanji by looking at it, but it doesn't mean they can speak Japanese any better. They still have to learn all the pronunciation and uses like anyone else. Believe me. If knowing Japanese didn't make learning Chinese any easier for me, then it's not vice versa either. :P Nor have I ever lived in Japan.

I love hiragana.. i think it's cute and funny.. I can see faces on the symbols. XD I can see faces in the symbols of.. na,ni,sa,ki,ta,hu.. XD
But I love kanji too.. ^__^
