It has to be 40
Why though? the harpies keep enough speed at 45. I always play between 42 and 45 cards just so i dont deck out.
Im afraid its in the rules

No the rules are you must have a minimum of 40 cards, there is no maximum limit.

Exactly. I think my deck is about 56 cards.
I remember the days when I used to have 80+ cards in my deck.

ouch 80+ cards

when i started my first deck was 60 cards.
I think its one of the hardest things to do deciding which cards are really needed in a deck. Its easy to put cards in cuz they are good but they can actually weaken a deck if they dont help its theme.
Deck building 101..
I always plan my decks to be between 40 and 45 cards as it makes for better draws, theres a few deck types that ive found run better nearer 50 cards (like fusion decks) but generally its under 45.
Decks work better if they follow a theme or strategy and have cards that easily work together but a couple of different type effect monsters can be useful incase your opponent totally negates your monsters type (for example having tribe infecting virus in a wind type deck).
Stick to the theme and dont add cards that only combo with 1 card, they might seem like a good idea but the deck will just end up being a disjointed 60+ card deck with bad draws.
Keep a good monster/spell/trap ratio. For 40 cards id say its around 20 monsters, 15 spell, 5 trap but it can vary with deck types.
My decks have become a lot more deadly since ive stuck to themes and under 45 cards. I won a local tournament this week that was using traditional format (no banned cards) and i was using an advanced format deck (lots of banned cards)so it really does work.

Why not? From what ive seen your decks a good low card count and good monster/spell/trap ratio.
Lack of cards to keep to a theme?

I would like to request too anyone posting a deck, please list any fusion monster cards that you have with your deck. You may have the material monsters and Polymerization but that means nothing without the suitable fusion monster card. So please include fusion decks.

I might see where my deck needs enhancing. Either that or I suck at text based dueling. In my last 3 or 4 duels I haven't inflicted a single point of life damage. Though my mind may not have been in the last one because I was presured into it. Anything to shut him up.

Your deck looks zombie based and zombies can swarm really well so you should be ok with a few changes, id up the card count to around 45 with a few more spells.
For the monsters id definetly take out Baby Dragon, Time Wizard, Thousand-Eyes Idol, Aqua Madoor, Man-Eater Bug, Old Vindictive Magician, Dark Dust Spirit.
Id add either 2x Night Assailant(much better than bug or old vindictive), Cyber Jar, Magician of Faith, Patrician of Darkness, Dark Hex-Sealed Fusion, Mystic Tomato, another V Lord, Spirit Reaper or a few effect zombies like des Laconda.
More spells would be useful, maybe another Call of the Mummy. Tribute to the Doomed, Graceful Charity and Feather of the Pheonix would be better than Cheerful Coffin as they let you get monsters in the graveyard without giving up too much hand or field advantage. Wasteland would power the zombies up more. Metamorphosis is useful if you have any fusion monsters that match your monsters levels, Swords of Revealing Light is always useful. Mystical Space Typhoon and Heavy Storm should be in most decks i think.
For your traps id take out Spellbinding Circle and Gift of the Mystical Elf, not sure about Light of Intervention as if you play it you dont want to be using flip effect monsters. Id add Tutan Mask, Call of the Haunted, Sakuretsu Armour instead.
Most of those cards there are commons so they are not too hard to get, i got 4 dark hexs from 5 Flaming Eternity boosters.
