if we had this almighty god, we wouldnt need power, heirachs, etc. we would all be equal. ¬¬ so, my point NOW is that, since everyone is striving for power (a good example is the moderator area) we ourselves are trying to be god in some respect. now, if there really is a Mr high-and-mighty god, he would put a stop to this, smite a few people here and there, and tell us we are all equals.

Like I wasn't kidding.
When you say that God should smite people, you sound like the Fundamentalists, which in turn doesn't sound very reasonable.

i dont know what a fundementalist is, but i take it its not a good thing. all im sayin is, if god killed man in floods, plagues, etc, then surely he can pank a few asses and give man a firm talking to by trying to attain power that clearly isnt ment to be theirs, as it breaks all equalities that he created.

The thing is, not everything in the Old Testament can be taken literally and many events and disasters were mistakenly attributed to God. None of that happens in the New Testament. The Old Testament is more of a history and text of laws and customs of the Jewish people.

what ever you all are talking about, i agree
and dretlin. thats a very good point, but according to budisim, if you follow your heart, and what YOU believe, not just what people teach you in school or in church, then you will find the truth by yourself
