The Treasure Chest

Sit and declare me "Sold!".
Hide the hint of mold.
Lie and say I'm gold.
Call me unique and bold.

Then they will take me into their lair.
Where my soul is naked... is bare.
They call me beautiful and fare.
And judge me with their icy stare.

They will hide their secrets inside me.
Their treasures will blindly bind me.
And I am safe no longer.
Showered with riches I wonder...

These diamonds and rubies inside me,
will hold nothing dear if kept outside.
They are precious and priceless candies,
only when kept safe inside.

Afraid of losing that bit of pleasure,
That gave them something to wake up to,
They never dared empty me.
And withered away like fall leaves.

But with such parsimonious minds.
And now I am forever condemned,
to sleep with diamonds and rubies.

It's been a while since I wrote anything. It's short, and sounds like none-sense lol. I guess it's one of those poems that only the writer can understand.
