Agrippa? Never heard of it. Is it a book?

No. He was a human being who lived in the late 16th century I believe. He wandered around Europe (mainly between Italy, France and Germany). He was an alchemist amongst other things.

And he devoted his life to studying the occult? Pretty weird...

It wasn't studying the occult. He was pretty much theorizing via theology and science and writing about it. I don't know if he had done any experiments or not.

What would he experiment on...?

I didn't mean like a torture-experiment, I meant experiment like using models, etc...Or trying to transmute objects from one state into gold.

Oh. That's still pretty weird. If he had made a breakthrough he would have been the richest person in history though.

Perhaps. But, even if he had, the price of gold would surely diminish (and rather quickly). Aside from that, some physicists say transmutation might be possible with the particle accelerators (such as the Large Hadron Collider)

Yes but before the price of gold diminished he would certainly have made an unbelievably large amount of money from it. I wonder what the world would be like with "precious" gems that could be transmuted from basic material...

Probably a far worse place.

Maybe, you never know.

he would still be rich even after that, cause transmutation is hard to do >.>

He wouldn't.Supply & Demand, Law of As depicted in the graph,, Line D, (demand) decreases as the Q (quantity) increases.

that is why people hold on to their gold to keep the demand high ^_^

that's what they do for diamonds, and oil ^_^

Oil doesn't follow the law of supply and demand because it's a speculative market.

What scorp means is that people would still pay him to transmute objects into something else. If he was the only person who could transmute, his prices almost certainly wouldn't lower. They would probably get higher. The price is what people would pay him to transmute objects, not the value of the objects themselves.
