Agreed.
That was a truly depressing ending. The manga's end is even more depressing and [censored] up than the anime.

Isn't that the one where everyone is like crazy and kills eachother or something? O_o I've watched a few AMVs and its pretty freaking creepy.
I cried at the end of Wolf's Rain, admittedly.
They all died, then you see them again in a futuristic setting. Didn't totally understand that, but it was still sad.
Course, I'm a softy, I cry at alot of things. Like X/1999 the movie ending. Pretty morbid stuff there.
I think Akira was sad. lololol

Definitely the end from Sonic X (Japanese version).
Those sequences of Tails make me tear up every time I see them. The writers (and Tails' voice actor) did a phenomenal job portraying the raw emotion of the event. The myriad of emotions he shows - sorrow, despair, even a quick burst of anger - coupled with his physical rendering just brings so much depth into it. It just isn't the sort of thing you'd ever expect to see in a series like this, especially from his character. It makes him seem very human, almost frighteningly so.
I always liked him, but after watching what he endured in those segments I really came to cherish the little guy. He showed (in my humble opinion at least) the true depth of his inner strength, and I will always love him for that defiant, anguished scream as he did what had to be done, and for his inconsolable grief afterward.

Not sure I have seen a few sad ones.
