i know a lot of people use snake but if you ask me he was a horrible character to put into brawl he just doesnt seem to fit.
i would have replaced him with companion cube ^^

I normally play on random, just so I can own with every character. =3
Right now, my best are:
Marth - Cause he's the smex and he's fast. =D
Lucas - He's so cheap. T.T It's ridiculous.
Toon Link - Another cheap one! D<
And Luigi. =3 Luigi is so cool! xD
My friend's best is Jigglypuff. <.< He's crazy good with it.

I still say that Marth totally pwns all other charecters just cause he can reverse any attack thrown at him.

It's only a minus one and not much else if it manages to connect. Characters with super armor can easily avoid it (Specifically, Olimar), and Marth can self destruct when using it if Marth is close to an edge or doing the attack in mid-air.
Marth's a good character but come on now. >_>

Capitan Falcon's slightly faster than Marth, but hasn't got Marth's range.
And yeah, they did sorta nerf Shiek some. =< Its possible to do pretty well with her, but killing might take a bit.. Unless you find time to switch between Zelda and Shiek when you've got a chance.
And Sheik... well... Sheik's attacks are so weak. >.< I can't stand playing her. So I'm saying that I have a legit reason to choose Marth over all others.
