It's a phonetic change - there are a lot of them in Japanese. It's just easier to say "shinigami" than "shinikami", so the K naturally mutated into a G sound.

XD I didn't even try pronouncing it like that. It does sound weird! Like. . .you're drunk or something. I guess all languages have phonetic changes. I'll have to be careful of them!
Thanks Dreams!

I love you with all my heart.
(Watashi wa) anata o kokoro kara ai shite'ru.
(私は)あなたを心から愛してる。
"Watashi wa" = optional
As always, "watashi" (I) can be replaced with "boku" or "ore" if you're a guy, or "atashi" if you're a girl.
"Anata" (you) can also be replaced with "kimi", or the person's name, or a pet name.

Damn it dreams! I can't believe you learned Japanese from a book. You're so good at it! Oh yea, can someone tell me why when the particle "wa" is written it's written as "ha"?

That I'd like to know. :3 I don't know how it was derived or mutated from 'ha'. I know the kana 'ha' was derived from writing the kanji 波 (wave) in cursive script, but how it became a particle pronounced 'wa'... dunno. Same thing with the particles へ (e) and を (o).

So that's where those 2 characters come from. I was looking up the hiragana and katakana alphabets (?) and I saw those 2 characters in a corner and was wondering what they were for. So they're particles but, like wa turning to ha, they change into another character?

Yeah. I actually made a giant list of particles and their uses
here. But the three we talked about are the only ones that have a changed pronounciation.

You're amazing dreams! you read my mind or something. The next thing I was going to ask was what are all the particles and what are they used for. Thanks!
