Indeed it does.

For those who are curious about the basics...

(Seriously, don't look at it unless you REALLY want to know, mega spoilers about the people and shpit.)
Spoiler
Show
Yes, Ed gets to go back to his world, and he gets to wear his automail again, while he tries to stop a psycho woman from our world, from taking over his world, which she calls "Shambala." Yes, Al does go in the armor, but not for long, as it's part of his abilities after having been detached from his body for so long - he can transmute his soul into other objects, though only for a short period of time.

By the way, we get to meet another version of Al, named Alphonse Heindrich, who Ed befriends. The opening of the movie is not only to explain part of the story to come, but also serves as one of the stories of his adventures with his brother he tells to the other Alphonse.

Envy, Gluttony, and Wrath are in this movie, as is an alternate version of Pride, who is simply a normal guy, a Jewish movie maker. Also in our world, a version of Hughes! Though very different from the one we knew and loved.

We also get to see Hohenheim again, hehe.
