I'm with what Baka said... get a grip and read the posts. They are half brothers. because they have the same father, not mother.

HIK and Baka are right they are half-brothers!
They called them brothers because one point I heard is that Inuyasha GETS defended by them saying HALF-BROTHERS so others like Myoga and Totosaui say: BROTHERS and not HALF-BROTHERS. Even though they have different mothers, they are the Sons of the Great Inu Papa. So I agree with them. Everyone says that they have the same birth parents. NO! They have the same father but different mothers.

So who was the first mother then?

.... .... okay. i'm honestly ready to scream. how can we prove that Sesshoumaru and InuYasha aren't from the same mother. let's consider this for one moment.

from the START of the series, all Sesshoumaru mocks InuYasha for is his HALF demon blood. you learn that Sesshoumaru is FULL demon. right there means that somehow, inuYasha's blood is diluted. you then learn around chapter 10 that InuYasha's mother was human (Izayio). Sesshoumaru poses a trap to get inu's fur ruffled where Inu's mother is captured by Sesshoumaru but is really the no-mother. InuYasha keeps screaming, "let go of my mother!"

case in point number 2- InuYahsa, in the third movie, tells Takumaru that it's the human blood in him that makes him stubborn. he also makes mention that Sesshoumaru doesn't understand this because he doesn't have the same blood.

case in point number three; inuYasha's kawaii ears. he makes mention that they are the representation of his half breed status. Sessh is full demon...he makes that clear as glass many times over. now, if you want to go techincal, because this is to much to understand;

-if you have a pure bred Labador retreiver in front of you and you want pure bred pups, you need to find you're lab a mate that is a Lab as well. you can't mix a lab with a standard size poodle and get a pure bred lab, no matter what. that poodle blood is present no matter what and the result is a labradoddle. (laugh it up, i'm serious. there is such a breed!)

SO, you have inupapa, who is full youkai, with his son who hates the new mate. then he mates with Izayio and has his other son, InuYasha.

they do NOT have the same mother, simply because we can't prove who sesshoumaru's mother is. that's like saying InuYasha could be Kagome's father because we don't know who her father is.

i dont think that matters alot i mean u can be born with the same parents, but u may not have both genes like if ur mom is part American and ur father is Korean u may just be fully Korean rather an a american

OH MY FREAKING GODS!!! But did you atleast get what she even said!!???? They have half of the sames genes (their father.) so thats why inyasha is a half breed!!
