That's awesome! Here, wedo not learn any other language other than english until 8th grade, where you have a choice of one, spanish, german, or french. I mean, God forbid we start learning other languages from a younger age. I hate it a lot!

You just have to practice a little more Lenita, you can do it, it's not that bad. Look at me for example, if it wasn’t for Tenshi I wouldn’t be as good as I am now, I’m very thankful to her, I had some really bad teachers in school…

But, yeah, portuguese education prizes language learning. Right now, like Anita said, kids start learning english around the 3º grade (not implemented in all schools from all i know though). in 7º grade they add french to that, in the 10º grade they can choose to perfect either one of those (or both) or learn latin, german or spanish. then of course, depending on the univ course some get to learn more.

Well that's not fair! Americans prize...money and crappy stuff like that. I wish we prized language learning!

we have to learn english in every school, but there are other schools that also teach spanish or mandarin.

About the languages there is still some universities in languages areas that study more languages, mmmm for example, my best friend is going to have Arabic next year.

But I don't agree with you Tenshi, Portuguese education doesn't prize anything, the old Portuguese education prized languages and the actual is actually to lazy to change that.... now a days we can explain Portugal in simple calculation:

Portugal = fine
Portugal + government = deep hell

LOOL that calculation was perrrrfect honey.
But you have to admit, portuguese education does prize language learning, compared to most countries.
