Thanks, Kyle.
Now, another callout for pictures.
I have nonbasic lands, but a set just wouldn't be a set without the basics. Can you think of pictures, landscapes, or scenes that would make suitable backdrops for the five basic lands?
PS. I think I've come up with the idea for two of them.
Forest: Point me to a good scene full of springtime cherry trees.
Mountain: Fire Dragon Mountain (from Record of Lodoss War) should fit the bill--and I already have the picture.
Now, how about Plains, Island, and Swamp? I'd like to use a different series for each land if I can.

I will see what I can dig up over the next couple days. I have exams coming up in two weeks, so I may not be around, or looking for pictures during that time.
How about this for an idea?
Name: Springs of Arliman
Type: Land
Effect: Tap, add 2 blue.
Tap, add 1 blue and 1 red.

Just to keep the thread fresh.
Anyway, as I've said before, I already have a Mountain image (courtesy of
Record of Lodoss War).
Kyle's been kind enough to provide a nice Plains picture from
El-Hazard.
Can anyone point me to a nice clear picture of an island? Doesn't have to be fancy (in fact, I'd prefer if it wasn't). I'd like it to be from something other than series I've already used for the basic lands, just to keep things interesting.
I've been told swamps are rare in anime. Can anyone lend a hand?
I'm still also looking for a nice picture for the Forest: preferably springtime cherry trees (I think
Love Hina would be a potential source, but I lack enough source material).

I think I've found a swamp. Does anyone have access to the 3rd volume of the Vampire Princess Miyu TV series (the one distributed by TokyoPop)? There is an episode there called "Swamp of Promise". If someone can send along a good picture of that swamp, I'd be grateful.

If only you had asked that a couple days ago. The person I know who has it, left campus for home today.

I'm trying to gain access to VPM#10 right now, and that should give me the Swamp.
Which leaves the Forest. I need to look up what episodes of Love Hina I have and see if any will fit the bill.
UPDATE: It doesn't look like much of a swamp, but it'll do.

Contact Baka-Tenshi. He seems to be the resident Love Hina guru. Maybe he can get you a picture of a cherry blossom tree.
I haven't been able to find any on the internet, other than pictures of real cherry blossoms.

Well, what about the common hot springs in anime.
Name: Hot Spring
Type: Land
Effect: Tap add 1 red or 1 blue.
Tap, tap two target creatures and Hot Spring doesn't untap during next untap step.
