Be careful. This is something I found on the Wikipedia page about Death Note, in the controversy section:

United States
A senior at the Franklin Military Academy in Richmond, Virginia was suspended after being caught possessing a replica Death Note notebook with the names of fellow students.[31][32]

Belgium
Main article: Manga Murder
On September 28, 2007, two notes stating "Watashi wa Kira dess" (I am Kira, with "desu" being the more literal and correct transliteration of the verb) were found near the unidentified remains of a Caucasian male. Nothing was found on or near the victim besides these two notes. Belgian police are investigating the matter further.[29][30]

Also from Wikipedia.

ive acctually read some reports like yours. This guy would always write names of incredibly old people and then jump out at them in the middle of the night so they would die of heart attacks. basically scared them to death

That's insane! So I guess Death Note is very influential. People actually wanting to be Kira. That's. . .weird.

It's not the first time people have copyied murder styles from fiction. Do any of you know about the fictional character Hannibal Lecter? He's a psyco murderer in novels and movies based on said novels. Well, there have been real life cases of people copying his murder style.

Some people are just insane.

I've heard of Lecter. I don't know how he killed people or anything but WTF? Why do people DO these things? Like, sitting like L or holding a phone like him, ok. But killing people like fictional characters? That's like this one chick my friend knows who carved an X into her cheek to be like Kenshin. That's scarring. What the hell is all I can ask.

Indeed. Some people go too far. Now, dying hair and changing the way you sit and the clothes you wear is fine, but scars???

If I wanted to dress as a character that had scars on their face, I'd just use Halloween makeup.

Interesting.

Oh, I've been meaning to ask: Do any of the people you run into during the course of your day make any comments on how you dress or act? Do you run into anybody that call tell on sight that you're dressed as L?

I know! I was in shock when I heard about the scar. I've been wanting to dye my hair bright orange or light blue. . .
