Yes, the Bible's Text is true. Instead of flaming something you obviously know so little about, you could try asking me or someone who is well-read in what the Bible says.
Let's keep this civil. I'd hate to see you embarrass yourself. Embarrassment is quite an uncomfortable state of being.

Some of the stuff I've read about God seems tyranical in my personal opinion. If I remember correctly God forbide Adam and Eve from eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Once they became aware he kicked them out of Eden.
Next we have the flood, what better way to restore order than to kill those who are against you? Though in my opinion the flood did not work as "evil" emerged again.
Who could forget Job? (Pronouced simular to Joe) He was a devoted follower, but God saw fit to torture him. Job commited no crime.
Abraham and Issac. God demanded a test of loyalty. So he ordered Abraham to kill his own son. When God saw he was about to do it he stopped Abraham and had him sacrifice a lamb. But the point is he mad a man choose between his family and his god.
These are my own opinions. I do not write to argue, merely to express.

The garden is what people today would call paradise; an endless supply of food, water, and life itself. Second, Adam and Eve were, at the time, without sin. They were completely unaware of how to commit sin, or of its existence. Once they ate the forbidden fruit, they gained the knowledge of good and evil. The knowledge of evil caused our present day sins and some of our emotions (such as embarrassment). Adam and Eve immediately covered themselves. For disobeying and having the potential of sin, God removed them from what you could call a paradise.
Quaker wrote:Next we have the flood, what better way to restore order than to kill those who are against you? Though in my opinion the flood did not work as "evil" emerged again.
You must understand the severity of the sin the earth was committing. The humans refused God's forgiveness and partook in some of the most barbaric, horrible sins of lust, violence, and deception. God, knowing they wouldn't change in the future, drowned them out and allowed Noah to start again. Today's sins such as lust, violence, and deception are nowhere near the sins of that time. Though, sadly it seems we are heading that direction, which only verifies the New Testament.
Quaker wrote:Who could forget Job? (Pronouced simular to Joe) He was a devoted follower, but God saw fit to torture him. Job commited no crime.
Actually, it was satan who tortured Job. God allowed it as a test for Job to prove his faith. After satan finally gave up, God blessed Job.

This was a personal test for Abraham. Though as a human it is VERY hard to understand, God is more important than your siblings or even children. And you must also know that if God was to have an innocent person's life taken, the human would receive a just reward in heaven. Abraham must've realized that God was in control of the situation and put all of his faith into Him.
Are you into books? I have an interesting recommendation for you.

you've made a mistake that too many people make, and that's assuming the bible is an error-free source of history. IT'S NOT! It's a book of stories used to teach important life leasons and attempt to explain creation.
Adam and Eve- reflects that man's vunerability to temptation and sin puts us in poor conditions.
Noah and the Flood- you'd do well to learn that the Babylonians too have a flood myth in which Utnapishtim is told to build a boat in order to avoid the flood. historians believe that there really was a flood, but only in the Middle East area, not the entire world. yet another story that explains an amazing occourence.
Job- another story in which a man who has everything is suddenly brought to the nader of his exhistence. it tries to teach that "even if things are bad, God is still there."
Abraham and Isaac- "Sometimes in life, you have to do things you'd never want to do, but ya gotta go through it. if no one else, at least God appreciates it.
i hope i could shed some light on the subject for ya.

It is obvious that Mugen and Atomosk are pretty well learned. Which is cool.
I'm not going to get into this to much, it's too complicated and I can't elucidate anyway
But I will say a few things.
- I think that the bible is a good book in some aspects, like in terms of some of the lessons and morals, but some are darn-right shicking! However, God (regardless of whether or not he exists) did not write it. A man did. People make mistakes and are biased no matter how hard they try not to be. Because hey, a lot of the bible is interpretation.
I think that the Adam and Eve story is a story put in place by men, to disparage women, and put/keep them in their place.
I also think that Creationism is pretty silly. Remember it was written when people thought God made earthquakes.
I'm not a religious person, more a philosopher, and i ask myself questions that a lot of people ask themselves. My answer, however, unlike many people, is not to turn to a religion. I'm living my life the best way i can. If I found out for sure God did not exist, i wouldnt change the way i live. Likewise, if I found out he does exist, i would still continue to live the way I do.
An aquaintance of mine says: (something like)
If God/Deities existed, He/They would be either:
1. No Deities Exist (lol)
2. A Deity Exists and He is Evil
3. A Deity Exists and He is Incompetent
4. A Deity Exists and He is Irrelevant
5. A Deity Exists and He is Some Combination of 2-5
Why would anyone worship any one of those? Humans are the measures of themselves. Anyway, I like that opinion. I'm like er...(confused) a secular humanist? Agnostic... Existential...um er...just confused and getting confuseder.
Anyway, there's a couple of things I thought I would share.

I'd also like to add: Please respect everybody's opinions and beliefs.
And remember, the belief or religion of a person doesn't make them good or bad. (in my opinion)
I know plenty of atheists who are great people, and respect other people's opinions.
One thing that does annoy me though, are people of a religion that impose their religion vehemently on others.

Likewise. Also, I don't like people imposing their hatred or dislike of a religion on others.
I try to stay neutral, but if anyone has a question about my beliefs, I answer. If anyone feels they should senselessly flame my beliefs, I will definitely answer.

thanks for the compliment, Locke. i appreciate it.
bully religions annoy the hell out of me, that's why i can't stand reading Puritan literature (i swear, if i have to read
Scarlet Letter one more time...). one of the reasons i'm separated from the Catholic Church. other reasons include:
a) their history. One word- Crusades. Another word- Inquisition
b) their stances on gays. they don't even allow gays to be gay, much less marry. i support gay equality, but am neutral on gay marriage (it's not any of my business).
c) they cling to the bible just a
little too much. rather than admit that the bible isn't 100% true, they come up with rather ridiculous theories and justifications.
am i a christian? of course. jesus was a wonderful person, who taught untold numbers to live better lives. to deny he was the Son of God, i can understand. to deny his significance, that'll upset me, though i'll die for your right to believe it.

very well put atomosk.
i also think the whole "if your gay youll go to hell" bullS*** is compleatly idiotic...
but i hate when people are so into religion that they are blinded by it. if you believe in god im all for it because so do i but when you let it controll your life, thats to out-bounded.
