ok whats a OVA

ok i know it might be a dum question to some but what idoes OVA stand for and is there a real differnts beteen a OVA and normale anime?

An OVA, Original Video Animation, is an anime that is directly released to video withouth being broadcasted anywhere like on tv, and the theathers.


There are a lot of good OVA's out there. Like Samurai X. :)

OVA anime tends to be of higher quality than tv boardcast anime.

And much shorter series. More like a one off or a movie, often associated with an anime series.

Quite a few OVAs are based of games too, and never released outside Japan. Tokimeki Memorial comes to mind.
