Now that Last Exile is finished I have questions.Spoilers?

1)What name does Alex say right before they 'bomb' Delphines ship? I thought he said Yuris, but then again I wasnt really paying attention. Did he say Yuris or Sophia?
2)Near the very end, the one old guy from the Guild who works for the Silvana called something up (cant remember what) to the level above him. You hear Dio's voice. Is he still alive? Or is it just a memory?
3) In one episode Sophia goes back home to live at the Emperors palace, why does that one guy call her Yuris?
4) I didnt really understand what Exile was and why everyone wanted to control is so bad. Can someone explain that to me?
5) Why does Dio call Claus Emulmin? I remember that one episode where Lavie has a dream when shes little and while their are dads flying away, Claus is yelling Emulmin. Whats it mean?
