Hmmm, I'd say to give M.D. Geist and Genocyber a try. Bewarned though Genocyber has graphic death scenes and isn't for everyone. Blood the Last Vampire wasn't bad I just wish they'd do more of them to explain her origins... If you can find them the Darkstalker series wasn't bad. I'd recommend Escaflowne, but I have a feeling you've seen them already.

If you don't have the Zeta Gundam Limited Edition Boxset, I would highly recommend getting that. Not only do you get one of the greatest Gundam series ever made, you also get 9 Mobile suit statues (which retail for around $40) and a Gundam information booklet by Mark Simmons, THE Number 1 Gundam Expert in North America. If you don't want to get the boxset because of the price, Bandai is going to be releasing Zeta Gundam in single DVDs very soon and you could pick those up. If you get this, I suggest getting the Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy movies for a bit of background information (you can probably find the volumes for around $10 online)
I also recommend Aura Battler Dunbine, a great mecha series by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creater of Universal Century Gundam. (ADV's website is selling volumes 1-10 + 12 for $4 each!!! The volumes with boxsets are $5!!! No volume 11 though, so if you do decide to get them, you will have to get vol. 11 some other way)
Since you are a RahXephon fan, you might want to give Evangelion a shot. Also a very deep and introspective anime, that is kinda similar. Although I must say that I HATED Eva, so you might just want to rent it out first.
I would also suggest downloading Space Runaway Ideon, (animesuki has a link to it) another Yoshiyuki Tomino anime, that is considered by many to be one of THE MOST VIOLENT AND DISTURBING animes he has ever created.
I believe the series ends with the entire destruction of the universe
