The first live action Battle Royale movie was awesome. Battle Royale II though... not so great.

i'll agree the second movie is nothing compared to the first but the manga makes the first movie look suttle

i dont know that pervert teacher makes the story darker anyway i've heard the manga has a different ending to the movie
