In Dragonball GT, Vegeta skipped SSJ 3 and went to SSJ4. So it is real.

he didn't go SSJ4 so Vegeta is an imposter. The real vegeta (in regular, ssj1, or ssj2 forms) are the best. He had to use Bulma's bluntz waves.
