Help finding this anime

Hey guys i'm looking for this anime, its pretty old, my I use to watch it in china a little less than 10 years ago. I don't remeber what it was called but the storyline was that it was about this girl who sees this ship and wasn't meant to see this ship..so these little people visit her and give her this box, and from this box she has the ability to become her older self. (like i think grow older than she is by using the box). Thats probably the main feature thing about this anime..again its pretty old so any help in finding this thing would be greatly appreciated.
