wat get me fixed up about the jap. particles is btween 'ga'-sub. and 'wa' topic. wat's the difference btween the 2? like how can u tell?

At a begginers stage, you should remember "wa" as the dominant paticle and "ga" as the weaker one.

Example:

これはいいなあ kore wa ii naa "This is good"

これがいいなあ kore ga ii naa "This is nice"

Also, unless you are quoting someone, "wa" only comes once in a sentance, unless of course you are linking 3 sentances together with words like "but" "and" or "because".

Another situation is when you want to to use "wa" in a sentance but you already have, you can just use "ga"

"ga" also shows an attribute of something. Like 私は漫画が好きだ "watashi wa manga ga suki da", this sentance is telling you that liking manga is an attribute of you. Even キミはかみがながい "kimi wa kami ga nagai" meaning "You have long hair" .

"ga" can also be used as the word "but" to link sentances too.

I think really it's just a case getting to know step by step and after a while you begin to know when to ise them, even if you dont really understand why.

Wrong, the particle "no" の　is used to show possesion

Yeah. I see a lot of people mistake wa and ga. But also a lot of people mistake wa and ha (ha is pronounced wa when used directly after a subject.)

ex. Hannin ha omae da (You are the culprit) ha-n-ni-n | wa | o-ma-eh | da

You are probably thinking of "aru"　ある and "iru"　いる. "aru" being a verb wich means "is, exists, are" wich is only used to inanimate objects. And the verb "iru" means the same thing but can only be used with living things

ga and wa indicate the subject
ka...is an interogative particle; used in questions only
de...indicates an action
e...indicates direction
no indicates possesion...I think the list continues..


wa and ga...they both mean the same thing but are used differently
when you use wa you want to highlight the information that is after "wa"example:
Watashi wa Naru desu.
"ga" highlights the information situated before the particle:
if you're asking "Who is Naru?" you answer "Watashi ga Naru desu"; cause the information you want to highlight is watashi

God!!!!!! why do japanese people gotta have particles?........so they don't have grammatical gender and number or articles but they do have annoying particles
