New Contests!

by webmaster
I've decided to try this whole contest thing once again. This time I've made the contest super simple. So here it is: come up with a list of forum member ranks. Not sure what I mean? Well, let me give an example list. Let's say I'll give someone the rank of newbie if they have made 0-20 posts, rookie if they've made 21-41 posts, and so on. See, easy!
So what do you win? Go to
Ken's Reviews and check out the Drakengard 2 for the Playstation 2, C.O.P.S.- The Animated Series, and Beast Machines Transformers: The Complete Series entries. These pages will provide you with more information.

Hmmmmm.... post ranks eh? I've been to places with these before...
Since AA is all about anime, I thought that a Dojo Theme might be nice. Since it is also Asian, I thought it would wrok extremly well with what we have.
White Belt:
1-50 posts
Anyone under 50 posts is considered a white belt. They are considered new and know not much of how AA works. They can only purely post, not much else.
Yellow Belt
51-100 Posts
These people proved that they are actually going to stick around AA. That they plan on being true to the site and abide by our rules. They have now earned the ability to PM other users.
Orange Belt
101-250 Posts
These people hgave shown that they do completely wish to stay here. They have now earned the right to edit a post, so long as no one has posted after them.
Green Belt
251-500 Posts
They have the right to now tell someone what they are doing wrong when they see fit to do so. They know the basics of the site and know what is expected of them.
Blue Belt
501-1000 Posts
These people have the right, if they so choose to do so, adopt a White Belt.
Purple Belt
1001-2050 Posts
You people have shown that you have earned the right to get a more space in your siggy.
Red Belt
2051-5000 Posts
Now that you are red belt, we expect the smae type of behaviour we expect from our mods. We expect you guys to carry yourselves with great respect and respcet others.
Black Belt
5001-10 000 Posts
You are the most senior of senior users. Maybe even more senior then some Mods, who knows. We expect nothing but the best from you. We expect that you will help keep peace, alert us of questionable threads and or users. Keep an eye out for those that you feel would be a "problem", but tell a Mod about it. We would rather you not take maters in your own hands.
I suggest, rather then calling them just Mods, call them, "Masters" For that is what they are. They are the masters of AA. they teach, they keep peace and make sure everything is running smoothly. They are our police if you will. So to keep with my dojo like theme, they should be "Master" rather then Mod.
Adopt a White Belt:
This is what I think a great idea. For all those that wish to participate in such things. To help our little novices get used to our forum, I think that a Blue Belt is good enough to help them out. Think of it as a Mentor like you would have in high school or University. They would help them get used to the place and help them allow AA to feel like a tue home to them too.
Punishments:
This is very simple. As you pregress in a normal Tae Kwon Do belt system, there is stripes. These indicate that someone is half way to a belt. If someone is reported, or is caught not following the rules, they will be degraded.
Example:
Blue Belt -> Blue Stripe -> Green Belt -> Green Stripe -> Orange Belt -> Orange Stripe -> Yellow Belt -> Yellow Stripe -> White Belt
Through this, someone could lose there Black Belt in a matter of a few hashly put posts. For White Belts though, they have two chances. If they have a Mentor, and they have not stepped in and laid down the rules and told them what they did, then the Mentor shall be degraded on the third account. If they have a trouble some Adoptee, then other actions might have to be taken.

Damn, I would suggest taking the japanese army ranks but that's already on another forum I know and it would suck to steal the idea

.
What about things like
0 - 20 Newbie
21 - 40 Warrior
41 - 100 Knight
101 - 500 Hero
and so on (I will think of some if that idea suits you).
btw: if you are about to create ranks anyway you could also do specific ranks for each group (like Kardis' Sweetheart Clan you can make the groupinternal rank "Sweetheart"). That would be how we could distinguish the individual clans from each other.

No offense Vash, but your system only goes up to 500?
I like a high school/college theme
0-199 Freshman
200-399 Sophomore
400-699 Junior
700-1000 Senior
It goes in increments of 200 for lower classes and then 300 for the next class.
Then, when they break 1000, they move onto college, and the system repeats on a larger scale.
Ie-increments of 400 and 500 instead of 200 and 300 or something
Moderators are proctors or Teachers or something and webmaster=principal.

Ok, I forgot one word. It should've been:
"and so on (I will think of some
more if that idea suits you)."

We could also make it that users who reached like 20000 posts can choose their own rank (
Hack on phpbbhacks.com).

I forgot to add somethings...
When it comes to being degraded down a belt of stripe, you can go back to where you were, or should be after 7 days. The more wrongs you do though, the even more time you must wait...
For the "Adopt a White Belt" once they are Yellow Belt, then they are no longer your responsiblity. Now they are on their own.
Aswell, with Black Belt, you need to have a perfect record for atleast a month. I mean, no down grades for a whole month before you can be a Black Belt as well as meet the proper post specicafations.

I think this rank thing is a great idea,
and I like the Ninja rank system however I would
rank them like this:
1-200 Genine
300-600 Chunine
700-900 Jounine
and 1000& up Hokage
this way it will take a while to earn the next rank...
