Hello Fellow Otaku!
My name is Shaun Gratton. As you may have guessed by my user ID, I am this years "NEW MEDIA COORDINATOR" for animethon 13. What is animethon you ask? Animethon is one of North Americas largest growing anime and Japanese culture related festivals and it keeps growing with great momentum every year.
I am glad to say that I am proud to be a part of this wonderful and ever growing event as it becomes more interesting and diverse each year.
We have a number of events I wanted to mention. The first of these events I wanted to mention is this years Cosplay. What is Cosplay you ask?
Definition: Strut your stuff as your favorite anime character! With exciting costumes and big prizes, the Animethon Cosplay is – bar none – the most popular event of the weekend. So popular, in fact, that we've moved the Cosplay to the ballroom of the Coast Edmonton Plaza! More seating, bigger sound, brighter lights – you'll have a great time cheering on your friends at our largest Cosplay ever!

Anime Music Video (AMV) Contest
AMVs have exploded onto the fandom scene! Want proof? Well, we've been receiving entries for the Animethon 13 AMV contest from all corners of the globe! Laugh, cry, and be amazed by the sheer editorial brilliance of the AMV world's bright lights and rising stars. Take part in the fun and pick up a Judge's Form to help choose the Audience Favorite AMV of 2006!

Karaoke Contest
Back for another year! Show off those golden pipes and belt out your favorite anime song! A little stage-shy? Then just sit back and enjoy the competition to discover Animethon’s top singing idols!

Anime Improv – starring The 404s!
An Animethon tradition! Join the 404s – a madcap bunch of Improv Artists - at the World-Renowned Anime Improv! Combining the wackiness of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" with the time-tested strangeness of anime, this event is a riot! Get there early – they almost always play to a packed house!

Artist Alley
If you need that Original Character brought to life, yourself transformed into an anime superstar, a doodle from your favourite artist, or a print to take home, drop on in!

Video Rooms – 250+ hours of programming
It's what got us started. Animethon 13 will continue the tradition of presenting a wide variety of anime hits, classics, and other Asian culture-related TV shows and movies. This year, we've shoved even more video content into Animethon, using our official hotel as the venue for scads of late-night programming.

Gaming Events
If gaming is your thing, then don’t miss visiting our gaming room! From video console gaming to CCG to tabletop RPG, we’ve got it all! Think you've got m4d l33t skillz? Then register to compete in our gaming competitions!
