Buso Renkin

Nobuhiro Watsuki, author and artist of Rurouni Kenshin, will soon be releasing a new manga. This new manga is called Buso Renkin, literally translated as Alchemical Sword, and, while sharing a similar style of art to RK, will be based in modern Japan.

I'm very excited for this for a few reasons. One, Rurouni Kenshin is nearly over in the states. Volume 28, the final volume of the series, comes out in July. Two, Watsuki is known for developing amazing characters and storylines. I'm sure that Buso Renkin will be an amazing manga and anime.

Volume 1 comes out August 2006!!

I read the first chapter in Shonen Jump and it looks promising. The plot line seems waaay medicore, but it maybe able to salvage itself later. That's just my first impression.

Yea, my only concern for Watsuki is that the plotline certainly isnt brand new. alchemy is a popular topic in anime these days; still, it looks quite promising.

If it's done by the people that did Kenshin it should be worth a look I'm interested. Peace out :color:

Haha, it was the first preview of a manga that I had read fully for the first time and really enjoyed.

I was happy.

I first saw it when I was skimming through the Shonen Jump. I stopped on that one page when Kazuki was having the "nightmare" and I thought, Oh, wow! This looks good!" I really can't wait for the volume to come out.

I'm glad Viz is releasing it. They're usually pretty good with the translations and come out in a timely manner.

I finally read Buso Renkin 1
The serie is fun and I think it look a lot like Bleach. I only read 2 mangas of Bleach but the main idea is the same (sister to protect, a girl help the main character to kill monsters, you know)
It's a good manga and there is only one for the moment so I have nothing else to say...I recommend it to all of you!!!
The autor has change a lot..He stop talking about him in his FREE SPACE pages and write only a few thing about the characters
It is difficult to resume the story because I have to say spoilers
I can only say that the story take place in a school, the main character is a boy, there is a girl and we don't know a lot about her...and there goal is to kill humonculus...
The first manga is never the better so I will wait for the other to come to see if it is a good serie or not
For those of you who wanna read the first chapter I think it's in the Shonen Jump magazine of this month!!!!
***the alchemy use it this manga had nothing to do with the one in Fullmetal Alchemist***

Well, I read the preview in both the new SJ and in the final volume of Rurouni Kenshin, which was just released yesterday. It looks promising, and has a different style to it in comparison to RK. I'm very eager to read this new manga.

Anyone know when the first volume is to be released in the states? I'm too lazy to pull out my SJ, and I'm not even sure if they have a date in there.

The Shonen Jump said August is the month it's supposed to be released in, but it didn't have an exact day.

^correct.

The most recent Shonen Jump, and in the final volume of RK  , it has been stated that Buso Renkin volume 1 would go on sale in August. However, when SJ say this, they mean early August, generally the first week of August. Occassionally, you can find a manga that is scheduled for a given month release a feww days before the months. So, I wouldn't be surprised if you see Buso Renkin on shelves around July 30th. But defintely in the first week of August.
