Pages take a long time to load

For some reason after I post or edit a message and try to view my post it takes a very long time to load. I've walked away from my computer and came back 10-15 minutes later and the posts still had not shown up on the page. They eventually do load but the avatars don't alway show up (it says avatar not found)and it takes soooooo long to load. Can anything be done to fix this?

Has anyone else been encountering this problem? Everything seems to be working fine when I try it.

Hmm.... I've had some problems as SSJ said, but usually hitting the refresh button a few times does the trick. I haven't had the "avatar not found" problem, but some of the pages have failed to load. Everything is going well today though. *shrugs*

Yea, I have those problems too, but I just push refresh and that usually works.

If anybody can find any hints on what is causing the page to hang, like maybe what exactly the page is trying to load at the time, please let me know. Since the most recent thing I added were those text link ads, I am suspicious of them, but the script for those are placed at the very end of the page right before the closing BODY tag, so that wouldn't seem like it would be the cause. Regardless, I just added the "defer" tag to the script, which is supposed to make the page not execute it until everything has has finished. Guess we'll see if it has any effect.

I think the problem might be caused by the anti-phishing filter in Internet Explorer 7. Try disabling that option and see if it helps at all.

I haven't downloaded IE 7 so I am unsure of how to fix the problem. Topics load a little faster now but it's still very slow. :(

Yeah. Topics take FOREVER TO LOAD. Most do anyway, like this one here. The irony, "Pages take a long time to load" and here I am sitting for an hour.

Let's see what happens tonight after the upgrade. We will be upgrade one of the nodes tonight (the other has some bad memory chips in it and we are waiting till Monday when Dell get's us the new ones). I'm sure that's not helping performance any...
