The Dark Tower collection?

Anyone read the comic or the books? I am currently finishing up book 1, "The Gunslinger". One of Steven Kings best works.
I never liked Steven King all that much but this story intrigues me enough to read all the books, so far its damn good. check it. There are seven books and so far only 4 comics out of 7.
