I'm surprised I didn't see anything like this all ready, so I'll start.

Who (besides me) is going to the midnight "premier"? I'm gonna show my true colors as a Pottertard (completetly made up), and stay up all night reading it, hopefully stashing a little sleep under my belt for work. Because I have work through Weds. and the book will be mine tonight!!

Just finished the book yesterday. Overall I liked it, and I'd like to comment on a few things =)

Major spoilage below.

Neville Longbottom was, simply incredible. Everything he did, from leading Dumbledore's Army to pulling the Sword of Gryffindor out of the flaming Sorting Hat and beheading Nagini was just....wow. I want Neville to get a spin-off series that's all about him doing awesome stuff like that. "Neville Longbottom and the Flaming Hat of Awesomeness".

Now, some negative things. First, the final duel. WTF was that? Voldemort's hyped up throughout the entire series to be this uber-powerful unbeatable super wizard...and he gets killed off by a plot device? I'm sorry, Mrs. Rowling, but that was horrible.

The fight went something like this:

Harry: You suck!
Voldemort: Shut up, kid! *casts Avada Kedavra*
Harry: By the way, your super wand can't kill me because of a Deus Ex Machina that's going to make your spell backfire.
Voldemort: Sucks. *dies*

Actually, something about that doesn't even make sense. I understand Harry was the current master of the Elder Wand, since he disarmed Draco, who in the previous book disarmed Dumbledore and took ownership from him. But....when Voldemort kills Harry in the forest, wouldn't that make him the Elder Wand's new master?

And don't even get me started on the epilogue. That was just garbage =/

Aside from that, the book was quite good. And the entire Hogwarts battle sequence was really well done, I think.
And now, a bonus! Naruko covered who dies already. So, I'll be covering *how* they die =D (Not in order of death)

1. Alister "Mad-Eye" Moody - Method unknown, offed during the "Seven Potters" escape sequence. Probably killed by Voldemort, but I can't remember.
2. Peter "Wormtail" Pettrigrew - Strangles himself
3. Dobby - Knife-to-the-chest, courtesy of Bellatrix Lestrange
4. Severus "Snivellus" Snape - Crushed by Nagini
5. Fred "George" Weasly - Random explosion
6. Remus J. Lupin - Method unknown, killed during the Hogwarts war
7. Nymphadora Tonks - Same as Lupin
8. Colin Creevy - Method unknown, killed during the Hogwarts war
9. Harry - Killed by Voldemort, and is revived by a retarded plot device
10. Bellatrix - Killing Curse flung by Molly Weasley
11. Tom "Voldermort" Riddle - Retarded plot device. He used Avada Kedavra against Harry with the Elder Wand, who was the wand's true master (Even though technically Voldemort should have been the master, since he killed Harry and all 2 chapters before). Since the wand can't kill its master, the spell backfires and he dies instead
12. Hedwig - Hit by a Killing Curse during the escape scene. Her body is later blown to bits by Harry.
13. Vincent Crabbe - Burns to death in Fiendfyre, another random plot device.
14. Bathilda Bagshot - Method unknown, probably killed by Voldemort
15. Charity Burbage - Eaten by Nagini
16. Rufus Scrimgeour - Method unknown, probably killed by Voldemort

The epilogue was crap, in my opinion. It was purely fanfiction that anyone could have written. Plus, it was completely and totally predictable.
Harry marries Ginny, names his kids after his parents and assorted dead friends. Shocker, that one.
Ron marries Hermione and has lots of kids.

And I can't believe that we didn't even get to see how any Lupin and Tonks died. I saw that part at the end, just like: Oh, yeah, Tonks and Lupin lay there, dead. For relatively major characters, they were killed off quickly and quietly--we don't even know how...
Oh well, the HP series is all over now.

I lost it when our favorite wolf died- he was the worst death. I freaked out and he deserved a better death. RIP RJL.
