Maybe deleting really old, spammed up threads may help clean up the forum a bit. What do you think?

I think that's already being done.

Mai.. Good job. Use your words. *Pats on back* XD

Yeah, divine. WHAT SHEEE SAID!
I just hope I dont lose any posts. :x But if I do, I do. Ah well.

My thought was that the old ones could be deleted, therefore allowing users to create new ones, slaughtering the "boringness" of the forum. o.o

I had been thinking about that for a while, and was planning on making a thread about it in Moderator Discussions.. but you beat me to it. ^.-

By "old" I think they mean the posts from back in '05 that are at the last pages of the sections. Mindless chit chat has several hundred threads that haven't been posted in for years, I think that those threads should be the first to go.

I agree with Omega. There are also some threads that are actually the same and some that aren't even minded to post at.

I know Omega >.> But you are correct. I say leave the ones that are on the first 2-3 pages of every thread, because in that case, those threads might have a chance of getting revived instead of making new stuff on it.

Maybe it should be farther than just 2 or 3 pages. Maybe 5 - 10 pages.

*sigh* Thats not gonna help any, because if there is a thread thats a billion years old, nobody is gonna know it exist anyway so its not like deleting them is gonna change anything, all it would do is make the boards have fewer pages. If you want to get rid of repeated topics just use the search function and that will cut down on stuff, or if a thread is too old, like a year or two and not a few months then you could just make a brand new one.

Its not that hard.

Well, it could still help in some cases.

Example: A person has a slow computer. With all of the old topics gone, the forums load a bit faster, thus removing slow down related anger.

Ppl the really old dead threads with no significant relevance should be deleted to clean things up. If ppl are later interesting in that topic they'll just make the thread again anyway, and if no one is interested at least we clean things up a bit.

Only inactive threads should be deleted (These will be the ones on the last pages if you've set your account to view most recent posts first). Some of the old ones are still in use.

That's what I'd like.

It wouldn't make any difference whatsoever. Your computer doesn't load all the other pages, it only loads the page your looking at, sorry but your point is irrelevant.
