Just who is this old man? He can work tons of the formulas and figure out the next victim in advance? And y at the end of the episode he couldn't solve the problem? btw, he got younger at the end.
This old man stucks in my head, but i can't figure out his role in the anime.

he's a profit, at the end when he gets younger, its just a flash back to when he first started the math problem. he got hit by a car when he looked up. thats why he was in the hospital threwout the hole thing and every time he did a mathproblem, he was just trying to complete the one he started before he got hit. he has the ability to go in and out of reality, by helping Misae Ikari find her husband, he was able to come back to reality. kinda confussing but oh well =P
