Smile for them

I'm back posting another of my ramblings as I gathered a bunch of new stuff in my head for pondering. Read, post, comment, insult me, call me an ugly mofo or whatever
and yes its really long.
Eh things are pretty normal and I guess I'm gonna continue on from a theme I sorta established last week.
Well there are two things I want to talk about mainly, dreams and limits. They do have much to do with each other.
The great thing about chasing dreams is its rarely a matter of if its too late, and more of a matter of what you would do to accomplish them. So this is the first place where limits take place. In some cases we limit ourselves. The reasons we limit ourselves are plenty, maybe its because we don't want to overdue it, maybe its because our situation makes it so that we have to work within our limits. Maybe we're just scared, of failing, of succeeding. Of trying our best and not succeeding in something that matters to us. Of not being good enough. In these cases its sorta funny, not in the way where we all laugh till we're blue crying keeled over running out of breath, but the way where you look deep inside yourself and you see that what you're doing doesn't make sense. Not following a dream because you're afraid of failing. People say things like the only way to fail a dream is to never have lived it, such words seem optimistic, and sure we all wish it was that easy but for some reason it never is because despite the fact that we want to keeping going all we can do is stop and watch everything fade away. Because if I don't chase after it or if I do hold back and I do fail then I have reasons, but if I go all out and fail then who do I have to blame? In life you're far more likely to fail than succeed, but the thing is its not the failures that we remember, its our successes. Think back to that time where you did something you were really proud of, or maybe something happened that you were really proud of. Sometimes its not the the prize that we want but what results from it, that feeling of accomplishment, of reaching out and grabbing that thing that only so long ago seemed unreachable. In order to be happy you must chase happiness, its rarely one of those things that just finds you, its not something you can depend on. Its not something like a fish where you can just cast a line out there waiting patiently for it to come and bite, its an animal, a discouragingly clever one that seems to elude us at every turn in the dark woods of some forbidding mountain forest. But you're not living as long as you're not chasing because you're not learning anything. Its up to ourselves to find the motivation to make us happy but if we're not doing that then what are we doing? If we're damned if we do and damned if we don't then wouldn't it we be better off doing even if we might fail? You're life is only worth as much as we decide to live it, its not the valuables we accumulated, or how popular we were, its not about how much you learned or how much you've lost, its not a phrase, or some clever words that can sum it all up, its the ability from deep inside of us to say, "Man I had a blast". Life is something thats weird, its something thats only worth living if you make it worth it because in the end everything that happens is all up to us.
We can't control the environment, or who gets elected, we can't make other people love us, we can't make other people understand what we do and why we believe in what we believe in. All we can do is learn to love ourselves and hope that other people love us as well. Its all up to us to find these things worth living for because we're already given all the tools we need to do so. We're all given coal at birth with the dream of making it a diamond. We all have the ability to, and sure some are born further along than others, but we're not them. All we can do is affect whats in front of us. Its not that we're not looking at the world with wide enough eyes, its that we don't care to affect what little space we're able to see. We instead rely on the miracles instead of making miracles. Its never what we're given, but what we decide to take that defines us in the end because we'll always appreciate those things more.
Now for limits, I know you're all like OMG shut up already it gets longer and longer every time, but deal with it. Its story time and I'm not done with my weekly ramble
Moving on. Limits. The thing is limits are sometimes a challenge, our limits are there to keep us contained within their cages, the thing to do with these limits is to surpass them. Now I'm speaking of this in the most positive of senses because I do not mean that we should break every limit thats there because there are some limits that are good, like being charitable and crap, what you should say to other people and how we should behave in the presence of them, but then again thats all up to interpretation.
A better way of looking at most limits is as a challenge. A goal that we're meant to somehow achieve through strenuous activity in some way or another, sometimes they come easy and we're not as limited as we thought, sometimes its like breaking through a wall of steel. But its something that we must break through to find out whats on the other side, to find out whats so bad that it must be hidden from us. Its not something that we have to take big steps toward either, significant progress doesn't not have to occur with each step we make, every step we make towards our goals is a step in the right direction because we're not standing still.
Thats the thing we must keep moving because a moving target is much harder to hit. Moving is something thats hard to do when you're being pulled in a million different directions, and the simple answer is just to follow the path that you believe would lead you to the most happiness. Its not usually the path that leads us to instant gratification, its often something that is wrought with many different perils, the path that at first seems the darkest but the one that you must be strong enough to follow, because its not always about what makes us happy right now, its about whats gonna keep us happy in the future and the fact that we must live with every decision we make.
Everyone reads those inspirational stories where a person seemed to accomplish everything that they wanted to despite the fact that their whole world seemed about to fall apart. Its because they didn't give up, its not some special talent that they had, or some sort of special rite they performed, its simply because they did not listen to all those things that told them to stop and seek things that would instantly satisfied their needs. But like I always say, what we do is all up to us and we must do what makes us happy even if it makes us a little sad at first. You don't have to let them die in somebody else's arms and you don't have to live with it, you just have to find your own way of fighting it even if you must do something that is not in your character because if you do not take what means most to you somebody else will.
Also I'm gonna talk a bit about something that I didn't mention so cue the "O noez there's more"
I can at times be unappreciative because I'm too bogged down with the little things. I don't appreciate the things that keep these little things little. What I'm speaking of is the people or things in my life that I love. The people that inspire me to dream, the people who give me the tools I need to accomplish them and the courage to do so. The things in life that I couldn't live without, and I hope that as they're reading this they're reading it knowing that I appreciate them in one way or another and I guess I'll leave with a little question that I'll pose to you. When was the last time that you let those things in your life know that you appreciate them? You may be surprised to learn what their answer is.... you may in fact make their day by dropping your guard, so as a little homework assignment from the future world's best teacher, make one person's day every day if you could, you'd be surprised how little you can do in order to do it.
