Don't forget I teach art.

Your drawing is quite good although the proportions seem to be out of balance. Remember there are people with long legs, long bodies, long everything, way out of proportion to each other in real life. Don't try to be perfect even in art.

What makes your drawing look sort of clumsy is not her legs but her arms, too long below the elbow and the cloth she is draped in below her knees. Since there is so much cloth it unbalances the picture. Try removing the cloth from her head and just draw an oval for her face. That helps set a perspective for the entire drawing.

This pencil sketch shows what can be done to show a large amount of cloth using a few simple strokes as opposed to heavy shading.

Students often ask me what kind of grade would you give it. I ask them; What would you give it?

I see your point ... The arms are far too long. But I wouldn't say the veil causes that much unbalance. It'd be better if it were lower on the head.

Do they respond "100%"? Because that's what I'd say every time.

Do you remember what I said about treating people equally? Part of that is being honest with yourself and that includes your art. People often want to give themselves a good grade, but isn't that really lying about it? My students (community college) eventually learn to grade themselves fairly although some never learn at all.
