Ruined a Book today?

Ever been drinking coffee whilst reading a book; only to have the cup slip slightly and permanently stain the page with your drink, or taken a book to the bath and accidentally dropped it into the water by accident?
-younger sibling find it and draw all over the pages in crayon? Crammed it into a small bag and have the front cover creased beyond repair?
All of these things have happened to me - and a LOT more (my cat puked on Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone for example) but have you had a book that got ruined by a small... accident?
-share the stories of book mutilation! =D

Ooooh, lets see.
~I left my mom's copy of Dragon's of the Winter Moon outside, it stormed, I got the book back all warped and moldy.
~I dropped my SCHOOL'S copy of (The?)Clocks by Agatha Christy in the bath. Ooops...
~I was eating Chinese and reading The Outsiders when I like...I think the word would be sprayed? something really spicy or spit it out. There's a splatter mark all over two of the pages now.
That's all I can think of now Yami. What have you done lately?

I never have mutilated a book. (But I have stories of what customers have done, but they might not be appropriate). I even have trouble highlighting a book. XD

lol at Nyx's examples~ xDD what'd your Mom say when her book came back moldy? =3
my best examples of book mutilation would probably be my collection of Harry Potter books. Each book has been ripped, creased, scribbled in, had things spilled on them (cat puke on the first book) and the Goblet of Fire no longer has a cover at all. Front, back and even the spine have been lost - along with the first chapter and three pages of the second chapter have been "dislocated" and are long gone.
-the scribbles from fifth grade are fun to read. I crossed out Hermione's name and wrote my name, and instead of Harry I wrote "Tom" (the boy I liked/like~) because I was convinced they'd end up together. (which they didn't; in your face ten year old Lucy!) and I wrote notes to my friends on the inside cover, and played tic tac toe with my friends in the spare pages too.
I'm starting to wonder if I've even read the first few books of the Harry Potter series - 'cause apparently all I did was badly mistreat the book. xDD
I'm sorry J.K Rowling!

I threw a book in a fire, that ruined it. >.>
Hmmmm I spilled spaghetti on one while reading through it for my assignment I was doing and never completed lol.
Other than that, I only spill my drink on most heh

I've never ruined a book. The reason why is because I take very good care of them, and I don't do stupid things with them.
I never have food otr water anywhere near my books. I never read them in a body of water. Etc.
Also, whenever I transport a book somewhere I wrap it up in a plastic bag to protect it from scratches.

But some of my most beloved books are battered Ichigo.
Yami, my mommy never really said anything...
I forgot about these. Most of my mom's old books, like Pierres Anthony or the Dragonlance books are missing covers. They tend to go get battered in my backpack, or they did...
Prisoner of Azkaban for some reason has a big big chunk of the middle that comes out and I think another book has that too.

The worst I did was bend a front cover, that kinda shiet pisses me off. I put a book in my bag and the edges begin to show wear and tear, I suppose it is just normal wear and tear. I take care of all my stuff and books. I am sure they will be here when the world ends.. whenever that will be.

All my books just have general wear and tear, even though I've read em in the bath and carted them across the planet etc etc

I found a copy of a book that I did ruin. It was a copy of Sherlock Holmes published by Penguin classics I believe. It was raining pretty hard, and my book got all wet, and it got smashed in my backpack. The pages are (now) yellow, smell like old books, and the pages are all wrinkly. I still haven't bought any replacement copies for that...
And Scorp, don't burn books! Haven't you ever read Fahrenheit 451
