A Soul's Song (Poetry)

Hey there everyone. Just recently joined the community so thought I'd kick off my stay here with some poetry.

Turmoil
Love and hate
Life and death
The Heavenly gate
A demon's breath

The choices we make
Our own twisted game
Responsibility we must take
A beast we must tame

Lives must be lost
So that others may gain
Friendships build trust
Whilst lies build disdain

Love brings us peace
Yet peace we'll never sell
Killing for necessity
Our own perfect hell

Faulty Knowledge
All I hear is this incessant drip
drowning out all my thoughts,
masking all sounds of life

Drip, drip, drip, drip
All I hear is this incessant drip
commanding full attention,
grasping at all in reach

Drip, drip, drip, drip
All I hear is this incessant drip
slowly encompassing everything,
morphing from a mindless drone

Drip, drip, drip, drip
All I hear is this beautiful drip
soothing every ache and pain,
calmly singing indecision away

All I hear has gone away
everything I know is distorted,
twisted by conflicting thoughts
questioned by reality's truths

A Soul Forgotten
Hands held high, I reach for the sky
Gazing blankly, searching for myself
Slowly I begin to cry
Clenching my fists, screaming for help

Avoiding the answer, I've known all along
Refusing acceptance, casting it aside
The dreadful lyrics, my soul's own song
I step from the light, greet my stranger inside

My efforts in vain
I can not save myself
For my own gain
I plead for your help

Realization crashes
You have gone away
Even you don't feel me
I've lost my way

Right well that's it for now, at least until I find out what you lot think. Plus I gotta look for where it is exactly that I've stored all my other work >.>

I'm so bloody unorganized sometimes :heh:

Glad you lot enjoyed them =). Found some more stuff, hope you like them:

Windows

Every day
Every night
I pray we shall stay
Together, heaven's light

Gazing in your beautiful eyes
I see the calm december sky
Lying here I share my goal
I give to you my heart and soul

Clouds providing a soothing trance
To which our hearts blistfully dance
A bond noone shall ever know
In heaven above, nor earth below

Searching, we may never find
Our misery long left behind
The windows of your radiant eyes
Shining light, my loving guide.

Lost
Standing amongst the crowd I wonder
why is it that I feel this way.
Hundreds of people surround me
yet these feelings of lonliness pervade.
My thoughts race, frantically searching
but no single reason comes to mind.

Confused and bewildered I stumble on
still searching for an answer.
My mind is blurry, my thoughts muddled
yet my heart, still clear, searches on.
The pain flows in again and again
as my heart finds one answer I chose to ignore.

Reaching out whilst watching the sky
the cherry blossoms drifting all around.
The single answer I thought, not true
unwilling to accept it, I begin my search again.
Lost within my own thoughts
realizing my journey has come to an end.

One single reason, a simple answer
altough I wish there to be another.
You are truly gone and shall forever be
this twist of fate, a cruel fantasy.
"I love you", that was your final song
as my heart sang out "I love you too."

Tranquility
Wake up, something inside is trying to awaken
an unknown force of unknown origin
that carries with it a feeling of familiarity.
A yearning of sorts, a plea for forgiveness
one that has plagued the soul and ravaged the body
a simple problem with a complicated solution.
Yet, within it's walls of hatred and chaos
through its paths of sorrow and misery
lies true tranquility, shrouded in the light of peace.

Tranquility isn't one of my favorites. It seems to flow...awkwardly...to me. What do you all think?
