Absolute Anime

Well, I just started watching Rurouni Kenshin (first episode, subbed) and I can't quite figure out one thing: is the wanderer supposed to be a guy? I'm just clarifying, because it sounds like a girl and his/her shirt is pinkish. So is the wanderer a boy or a girl (just clarifying)?

He's a guy. He's just really effeminate looking.

Yeah, he really does. But when I saw the advertisement (don't know if its spelt right) in Shonen Jump a while back I just had to watch it. Now that I've seen it, I'm gonna get them as fast as my Internet lets me! (satellite internet.... pretty bad)
