Welcome to outer space: the Wild West of the future. In this future universe (year 0158 on the Toward Stars Calendar), there are three kinds of people. First are the Space Forces. They are the law in the galaxy that strive to maintain peace and order. Second are the Pirate Guilds. These ruthless bands rob and plunder at will, flying in the face of the law and leaving chaos in their wake.
In between are the Outlaws. They are the free spirits of space. They go where they want, do what they want, and answer to no one but themselves.
This is the story of three significant points of interest: Gene Starwind, a carefree man who will do anything for the good life; the XGP15A-II (re-christened the Outlaw Star), a state-of-the-art grappler ship that happens to come into Gene's possession; and the Galactic Leyline, a supposed treasure trove that everyone seeks...and the Outlaw Star is destined to seek out.
Note: One episode was not presented on US television due to nudity issues.
that was done by " Who Wants To Know " at the anime pro files
Hot Ice Hilda dies in the 2nd episode

I'm pretty confident it's #4. I can recall the progression of the story, and it fits in with what I know about Gene's next adventure after that point: his first face-to-face with Aisha Clanclan (which IINM is #5).

It wasn't banned. Don't know where that got started. They've simply stopped showing it for a while or haven't renewed the rights to show it. The only ejpisode that was censored was the Hot Spirngs episode where there was female frontal nudity and some adult themes.
And Simaru, it 's great to see someone using some of the resources on this site. Most of the anime people have questions about can be found right here in Anime Profiles. It's not 100% complete, but it is good.[/i]

Why Outlaw Star isn't shown anymore on Cartoon Network.
1. Outlaw Star wasn't getting the ratings that Cartoon Network wanted. (not enough people watched it)
2. The rights expired, and Cartoon Network didn't renew the rights. (reason why, look to 1.)
