how come they had to dub the name? i mean i thought it was tokyo mew, and the characters were ichigo ,retsuo, zakuro and purin.....^_^ this is stupid isn't it?^^

I agree i read the manga first and I think "Mew Mew Power" is the dumbest name Tokyo mew mew sounds way better BTW who is retsuo and purin aren't the originals Zakuro,pudding, ichigo, mint and lettuce?

Yeah, why did they change it? Anyway I know this site that has a lot of the inside story behind all this wierd name changes.

I know it's actually stupid..how they changed the names? i think prehaps they did that was becuz the name are different from the American names.

Well I just watch the show I know it's confusing keeping up with the names in the show and Manga but their both good

totally agree. they should just stick to one name. Then TRANSLATE the name instead of changing them >< they've got food names and english names!!! so confusing...

I love Tokyo mew mew. I cant wait till they translate the second arc. There's a bunny cat girl named Berii. I hate the fact they changed teh name. It's 4kids though. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT! Did you know they originally were gonna call it Hollywood Mew Mew? Their reason to translate it was that "They didnt want children of America to become too familiar with orient style". News flash, AMERICANIME SUX @$$. They dont seem to get that. Like teh winx club is a good example. Possible good story line, HORRIBLE ART.

anway I've read the TMM manga and I have the TMM( not MMP) anime. DARN YOU 4kids entertainment. The only good thing about MMP is Elliot Grants voice ( Sean Schemmel) it still has the original "i am richer then you and i am your boss MWAHAHAHH" I love it! ANIME names are Mew Lettuce/Retasu or Lettuce not Retsuo, Mew Mint/Mint or Minto, Mew Pudding/Purin or Pudding, Mew Ichigo/Ichigo,Mew Zakuro/Zakuro. Manga names are Pudding,Ichigo,Mint,Lettuce,and Zakuro.

Actually Retasu and Purin are the real japanese names of Lettuce and pudding. but i think tokyopop just wanted to make it easier to understand.but Pomegranite just doesn't sound right for Zakuro! oh yeah and the italian names are Ichigo Mina Lory Pam and i forget puddings name

The real names are Ichigo, Minto, Retasu, Purin, Zakuro and Berry
